MARRAKECH SHORT FILM  FESTIVAL

Kamal Hachkar is a French-Moroccan independent filmmaker.
Born in Morocco. Hachkar holds an MA in history from Sorbonne University and later becomes a history teacher. In 2012, he released his feature documentary Tinghir
Jerusalem: Echos from the Mellah; this film has been selected at several
international film festivals across the world, winning numerous
awards and stirring a fruitful national debate in Morocco over the
plurality of identity.

Casablanca native Daniele J Suissa is a former film director and producer who has devoted her life to teaching for over twenty years. A Senior Lecturer at UCLA, USC, AFI and the Los Angeles Film School, she is also a founding professor at the Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts in Amman, Jordan. She is a visiting professor at various Moroccan film she also holds Masterclasses in Amman, Doha and Abu Dhabi.

Marie Courtin has been the leading photoshoot producer for fashion magazines and brands in Marrakech since the the late 80S. Her company 1001 Productions counts various international editions of Vogue and numerous high fashion brands among its clients. For Yves Saint Laurent’s 30th anniversary she produced the iconic Marrakech shoot starring Catherine Deneuve shot by André Rau. In 2005 she created a video art festival in Mortagne sur Gironde (Fr), featuring renowned artists such as Bill Viola.

Mehdi Sefrioui is a Moroccan fashion photographer based in Paris. Born in Tangiers, his first steps in his medium were made through street photography, documenting his long walks and travels with portraits and landscape shots. After business studies in Paris, an internship at the artists agency Art Partner and a year studying Photography in Paris College of Art, he decided to focus on fashion photography, a field in which he could fully express his creativity.

originally from Casablanca, Tarik Mounim is an actor known for Goodbye Mothers by Mohamed Ismail and the short film Et Moi. He is the founder of Save Cinemas in Morocco, an organisation created in 2007 as a response to numerous iconic movie theaters being closed an destroyed. At the 7th Marrakech International Film Festival he launched a campaign to raise awareness about the issue, mobilizing various professionals from across the industry for the cause.
